  1. Are we really going to shoot a lot of ammunition?
  2. Maybe... we ask you to bring a certain amount rounds, for example, 500 rounds up to 1500 rounds for a particular course. Most people will not shoot that much but we have had some shoot more. We allow people to train to their level, if we tell you to shoot 50 rounds and your hands are sore and can only shoot 20 good rounds we would rather see that. No one at IronSight Tactical will give you a hard time for you shooting less, its your choice and your body - you know how it feels, we don't.

That ammunition will not go bad! Now you have something to practice with at home.
  3. What firearm should I bring to class or what type of firearm should I purchase?
  4. Handguns:
If you do not own a handgun do not rush out and purchase one prior to attending class. Contact us first and let us know if your not able to have a handgun. IronSight Tactical may have a handgun or two for students to use for free. That way you learn what is best for you and what works rather than buying something that is sold to you for one reason or another. IronSight Tactical DOES NOT sell firearms; we want you to go to your local gun store for the purchase but forewarned is forearmed.

If you have a handgun, bring it, you should train with your firearm, if you have more than one bring several.

    Tactical Rifles:
AR-15's, AK's, Mini 14's are all acceptable rifles/carbines for this class. Pistol class calibers are welcome as well; long distance will limit their effectiveness. There are many other acceptable firearms as well. Caliber is your choice. But we mainly train with the AR-15/M4 PLATFORM Carbines. Your more than welcome to bring whatever carbine but it may slow you down in the class, as far as a speed reload and a tactical reload.
  5. I am not in good physical condition, can I participate in training?
  6. At IronSight Tactical we believe everyone has the right of self-defense, good condition or not. Any class we do we encourage the student to participate to their level. Very poor conditioning or some circumstances will prevent you from doing some things but get out of it what you can. We encourage every individual to come out and do the best they can, our instructors will be patient and work with you!
  7. How many weapons should I bring to a class?
  8. Bring more than one firearm if you have them. We want you to find one gun you like and work with it but having more there does not hurt a thing. But just bare in mind we will probably not have time to train you on every firearm you might bring, but you might find one firearm might be easier to use than another for certain drills. We do ask that every firearm be brought to class in a case of some sort.
  9. If my firearm breaks, will IronSight Tactical be able to service it?
  10. IronSight Tactical does not guarantee we can fix every gun problem. However, most of the time someone is here on staff that can fix most problems. We do have an AR-15/COLT/GLOCK Armorer on site. IronSight Tactical Tactical while at the range does not charge for that service.
  11. Will IronSight Tactical be able to sell me ammo should I not be able to get enough on my own?
  12. IronSight Tactical does not sell ammo. We are not in business to sell ammo; we encourage you to bring your own. You can generally find a better price other places. You may also have it drop shipped to us with your name on it.
  13. My spouse wants to come with me to Indiana, but doesn't want to attend the class. Are there any hotels or B&Bs where she would be comfortable at during the day?
  14. There are some great places to stay for the family. Greenfield Indiana is a fairly small city but does have several hotels to choose from and some shopping areas. There are some bed and breakfast's in the area but not sure on the cost. Just let us know ahead of time and we'll try to assist you.
  15. I am looking into the possibility of bringing my police department, security team, military unit to your facility. We would prefer that information not be made public or published on your website. Is that a problem?
  16. We do not put groups that train here on our web site or advertise that in any way without their express permission.
  17. Is there a place in town where I can get lunch? Is there time for that?
  18. In Batesville, there are plenty of places to eat. We generally break for one hour for lunch. You will have plenty of time to go eat, or you may bring your lunch to the range.
  19. Are there kitchen facilities at IronSight Tactical?
  20. No there are no such facilities available.
  21. How many people will there be in a class?
  22. IronSight Tactical averages about 15 people per class, some less, some more. We will have a minimum student to instructor ratio of 5 to 1 and is generally more like 3 to 1.
  23. Does IronSight Tactical have weapons to sell to students?
  24. We do not have an FFL and do not sell firearms.
  25. Does IronSight Tactical offer covered shooting positions in the event of rain or bad weather?
  26. We shoot rain or shine, on low level classes where we are on the main range most of the time there is a range overhead to get under to reload. Bring your rain gear.
  27. I have never been in the military, am not a cop, and have no formal training. Will my time in the class be positive and at my level, or will I get left behind?
  28. Civilians are the dominant part of IronSight Tactical's business. No one gets "left behind", our instructors work to bring out the best in all students from the person who has never used a firearm to the person with extensive training. The better you are the more we push you to excel.
  29. I hand-load for my precision rifle. Can I pick up brass?
  30. You may bring hand-loads to any class, IronSight Tactical reserves the right to stop the use of your handloads if there is a problem. We do not want to risk injury to anyone because someone does a poor job handloading. You are more than welcome to police your brass and the brass of anyone else who does not wish to take theirs.
  31. I have a major physical limitation (crutches, wheel-chair or prosthesis). Can IronSight accommodate me? Have you had students with such limitations in the past?
  32. Students that have major physical limitations are welcome at IronSight Tactical. We will do our very best to accommodate you in any way we can. We have had people with all types of limitations, not all have been able to do everything but we try.
  33. I want to attend with my minor child, what is your position on this?
  34. The required age of our students is 21. This is for liability purposes, it's not that we feel your child may not be mature enough or safe enough. However, you may bring your children to observe the course and classroom time but they may not participate in training until they are 21. Waivers must be signed for all parties on range property.
  35. What is your deposit and cancellation policy?
  36. We are instituting a 50% deposit requirement for all classes. To book a class, you will need to provide a credit card number to be placed on our schedule.

If you cancel your training within 10 days of the class date, or fail to show, you will forfeit this deposit. This policy is firm and there will be no exceptions. Booking a class at IronSight Tactical is a commitment. And you are filling a slot that could have gone to someone else. And it has been our observation that last minute cancellations are very difficult to back fill -- travel, ammo, time-off, etc, with the amount of courses we offer these days, we need to the keep the cancellations to a minimum.

Summation: 50% deposit to book any class. If you cancel within 10 days of that class, or don't show for the class, you forfeit that deposit. No exceptions.
